About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command is seeking to procure PRC-117G radios or equivalent for the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. The solicitation requires radios made of sturdy materials designed for expeditionary environments with specific technical capabilities, including encryption, 28.8 Volt lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, and Beyond-Line-Of-Sight (BLOS) communication. The radios must support simultaneous SATCOM voice and data transmission and include software-defined technology that enables in-field upgrades and Broadband Global Area Network terminals. The government will evaluate offers based on delivery date, price, and past performance, with the intention of awarding the contract to the most advantageous conforming offer. Proposals are due by November 29, 2024, and the solicitation indicates the government plans to make an award without conducting discussions, meaning vendors should submit their best initial terms.
The contract opportunity is not set aside for any specific business category and is classified under the NAICS category of All Other Telecommunications (517810). The place of performance will be Al Wakrah, Qatar, specifically supporting operations at Al Udeid Air Base. While specific quantity details are not explicitly stated, the solicitation includes a comprehensive list of required components, including the Harris PRC-117G(V)(C) radio, specific antennas, power supplies, and associated equipment. The procurement is structured as a commercial purchase and is not a Foreign Military Sale. The solicitation indicates this is a focused acquisition for specialized communication equipment to support expeditionary military communications, with the expectation that vendors can provide precise matching or equivalent radio systems that meet the detailed technical specifications outlined in the government files.
