About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 19 units of gas turbine power units for repair and modification services under NSN 7R-2835-015733495-P8, TDP VER 002. This procurement involves commercial off-the-shelf items with delivery terms FOB origin, and the government intends to use sole source procurement authority under FAR 6.302-1 to negotiate with only one contractor. However, the agency is providing an opportunity for all responsible sources to demonstrate their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on August 15, 2025, with a response deadline of September 29, 2025, giving potential contractors 45 days to submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements for government consideration. Technical documentation and specifications can be obtained through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) or the ASSIST-Online system, with support available from the ASSIST Help Desk for those requiring assistance.

This procurement opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to full and open competition despite the government's stated intent for sole source procurement. The contract falls under PSC category 2835 for Gas Turbines and Jet Engines, specifically non-aircraft prime mover and aircraft non-prime mover components. While the notice does not specify budget ranges or award values, the requirement calls for exactly 19 units of the specified power units, suggesting a relatively modest quantity procurement. The government has indicated that if an award is issued under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA), the response timeframe would be shortened to 30 days rather than the standard 45 days. No current contractors or potential incumbents are identified in the notice, maintaining competitive opportunities for qualified vendors capable of meeting the technical and delivery requirements.
