About this opportunity
NASA's Shared Services Center seeks powder bed fusion development and characterization of specialty nickel alloys through a sole source intent to North American Manufacturing Pros LLC, with written capabilities submissions due July 15, 2026 by 3:00 p.m. Central Standard Time. The procurement will proceed under FAR 12.102(a) using commercial item procedures, and NASA retains discretion to conduct full and open competition based on submitted responses.
Place of performance is NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, Alabama. The work spans six months from notice to proceed and comprises three primary tasks. Task 1 requires dedicated access to an EOS M280 laser powder bed fusion system for 432 operational hours to develop optimized parameters for commercially pure nickel (Ni-201), oxide dispersion strengthened alloys, and nickel-based superalloys including NASA-developed GRX-810, Alloy 625, and Haynes 230, achieving 99.9% relative density with validation per NASA-STD-6030. Task 2 mandates a minimum of 50 mechanical tests on Task 1 specimens, including room and elevated temperature tensile testing and low/high-cycle fatigue testing to NASA specifications. Task 3 requires supply of a minimum of 200 kilograms of powder for Ni-201 and other alloys with full certifications documenting chemical composition, particle morphology, and batch traceability. All deliverables—fabricated components, test reports, and powder certifications—ship to Marshall Space Flight Center with Colton Katsarelis as receiving contact. The NAICS code is 561990, All Other Support Services; PSC is W099, Lease or Rental of Equipment—Miscellaneous. Contact Kacey L. Hickman at Kacey.l.hickman@nasa.gov. NASA FAR Supplement Clause 1852.215-84 (Ombudsman) applies.
