About this opportunity

The Naval Sea Systems Command, a component of the Department of the Navy, has issued a Special Notice dated March 26, 2026, regarding the postponement of a competitive procurement for Transmit/Receive Integrated Microwave Module (T/RIMM) and 28V Power Supply Line Replaceable Units (LRU) Assemblies used in the AN/SPY-6(V) radar system. This notice informs interested parties that the Government is delaying the full and open competitive solicitation for the manufacture and repair of these critical components. The postponement is driven by the need to complete and update comprehensive technical data packages and address outstanding questions from industry stakeholders. This is a non-set-aside opportunity that falls under the radar equipment manufacturing sector (NAICS 334511, PSC 5840). The point of contact for this procurement is Shannon Reinhart at shannon.l.reinhart.civ@us.navy.mil.

In lieu of the delayed competitive procurement, the Government intends to pursue a sole source procurement to address emergent warfighter requirements and avoid unacceptable delays that would result from waiting for an adequately prepared data package. While no specific timeline has been established for the future competitive solicitation, the Government confirms its intent to conduct full and open competition under a new competitive solicitation number to be determined at a later date. Interested contractors should continue monitoring SAM.gov for updates regarding this effort and the eventual competitive opportunity. There are no specific eligibility restrictions noted in this Special Notice, though contractors should ensure they are registered in the System for Award Management to receive notifications. The April 3, 2026 due date referenced in the notice relates to the submission deadline for this informational Special Notice rather than a solicitation response.

Notice text

Based on market research results and continual procurement strategizing, the Government is postponing full and open competitive requirement for the manufacture and repair of the Transmit/Receive Integrated Microwave Module (T/RIMM) and 28V Power Supply Line Replaceable Units (LRU) Assemblies in AN/SPY-6(V).  The Government intends to pursue a full and open competition for these items in the future under a new competitive solicitation number still to be determined.  However, no timeline has been established. The full and open competition is postponed until a complete and accurate data package can be updated, addressing all questions from Industry.  Due to emergent requirements and unacceptable delays until an adequate data package is available, the Government intends to pursue a sole source procurement to meet Warfighter needs.

Interested parties should continue to monitor SAM.gov for future opportunities.
