About this opportunity
The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, China Lake intends to award a firm fixed-price contract on a sole-source basis for 500 pounds of poly(lauryl methacrylate) with a molecular weight of 200,000–250,000 (GPC approx. 30% solution in ethyl acetate), with a response deadline of August 7, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. PST.
This procurement is sole-sourced to Scientific Polymer Products, Inc., located at 6265 Dean Parkway, Ontario, New York 14519. Market research determined that Scientific Polymer Products, Inc. is the sole commercially available supplier of this specific polymer-grade material; other manufacturing facilities would require extensive process development and significant lead time, resulting in critical project delays. No other chemical formulations or solvent carriers are technically acceptable.
This is a notice of intent and not a request for competitive quotes; no RFQ will be issued. However, interested parties may submit a written response by email to Andrea.m.farrell7.civ@us.navy.mil referencing solicitation number N6893626RFPREQD550000E5500000337 to identify their interest and capability. All vendors must maintain an active registration in SAM.gov prior to submission, and the Navy notes that SAM registration processing may require 10–15 days. Contractors must be certified through Defense Logistics Information Services (DLIS) to access Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
