About this opportunity
The Department of State seeks plumbing contractors for remodeling work at the American Embassy kitchen in Vienna, Austria. This procurement involves comprehensive plumbing services for a 50 square meter kitchen renovation project, including execution planning, disconnection of existing equipment and appliances, removal and disposal of current cold water, hot water, and drainage pipes, delivery and installation of new plumbing systems, commissioning, testing, and documentation. The contract falls under NAICS code 238220 for Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors and PSC code Z2FA for Repair or Alteration of Family Housing Facilities. This pre-solicitation notice was posted on July 11, 2025, with responses due by August 28, 2025. The procurement does not specify evaluation criteria in the available documentation, though contractors must demonstrate capability to perform the full scope of plumbing renovation work at an overseas diplomatic facility.
This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to all qualified contractors. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the notice. The estimated construction cost falls within the range of less than $25,000 according to FAR 36-204 guidelines, indicating this is a relatively small-scale renovation project. The work involves approximately 50 square meters of kitchen space at the embassy facility. No specific performance timeline is provided beyond the August 28 response deadline, though the comprehensive nature of the work suggests contractors should be prepared for a multi-phase project encompassing planning, demolition, installation, and testing activities. The overseas location in Vienna will likely require contractors to coordinate international logistics and comply with local building codes and diplomatic facility security requirements.
