About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Mobility Command is seeking a design-build contractor to address extensive pest damage in Building 380 at Travis AFB, California. The project requires comprehensive services including demolition and replacement of 8,216 square feet of suspended acoustical ceiling system, complete with new insulation and HVAC supply system modifications. Contractors must be registered in SAM.gov and will be responsible for hazardous waste abatement from animal waste and implementing professional pest control measures to prevent future raccoon infestations. The solicitation will be published on SAM.gov on or after February 21, 2025, with Gabriel Sanderson and Rory Gardner serving as the primary points of contact. While specific evaluation criteria were not detailed in the pre-solicitation notice, interested contractors should prepare comprehensive proposals addressing design, remediation, and preventative pest control strategies.
The procurement is not designated with any specific set-aside classification, indicating it is open to all qualified contractors within the Commercial and Institutional Building Construction sector (NAICS 236220). The project scope suggests a focused remediation effort targeting structural damage and pest intrusion, with work concentrated on sealing exterior and inter-building openings between sections "A" and "B". Though exact budget parameters were not specified, the complexity of the work involving ceiling replacement, hazardous waste management, and comprehensive pest control implies a potentially significant contract value. The timeline indicates the government intends to move quickly, with the solicitation release imminent and an expectation of prompt contractor response and project execution. Contractors should be prepared to demonstrate technical capabilities in building restoration, hazardous material handling, and integrated pest management solutions.
