About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Mobility Command is conducting market research to identify qualified vendors for airfield pesticide spraying at McConnell Air Force Base through a Sources Sought announcement. The 22nd Contracting Squadron seeks contractors capable of providing comprehensive pesticide application services for approximately 326 acres of runway edges. This pre-solicitation notice is designed to assess the market's capability to fulfill the specific requirements, which include using Bifenthrin-based insecticides like Tundra or Bifen 2 AG Gold and performing two annual spray treatments. Interested contractors must possess DOT/EPA licenses, provide personal protective equipment, and be prepared to undergo background checks for personnel. Responses to this Sources Sought are due by April 16, 2025, at 1600 CST, and must be submitted via email to SSgt Scott Cragle and Cameron D. Collins at their McConnell AFB email addresses.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designations for this contract opportunity, suggesting it is open to a broad range of potential contractors within the Landscaping Services (NAICS 561730) category. The performance work statement outlines specific operational parameters, including spraying twice annually - once in the final week of April or first week of May, and again in the first two weeks of August. Contractors will be required to work only during daylight hours (0800-1700) on weekends and will be escorted on the airfield with mandatory radio communication and compliance with Air Traffic Control instructions. The 22d Air Force Wing will provide water hydrants for chemical mixing and communication radios. While no specific award value is mentioned, contractors should be prepared to meet stringent security protocols, including wearing identification badges and registering vehicles for base access.
