About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is seeking to procure 40 Linear Actuator Pistons (NSN: 3040-01-612-0723) for the MD-6 Patriot Missile System through a one-time, firm-fixed price contract. This pre-solicitation notice indicates a specialized procurement with strict source approval requirements, specifically for parts with unique engineering design capabilities. Potential vendors must email inquiries to usarmy.redstone.devcom-avmc.mbx.amr-ss-sar@mail.mil to seek source approval for competing in future solicitations. The contract is being processed under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2), which allows procurement from a limited number of responsible sources. Interested companies must communicate with LeeAnn Darling, Contract Specialist, via email LeeAnn.Darling@dla.mil and provide their company name, Cage Code, and telephone number when requesting solicitation details.
The pre-solicitation notice does not specify a specific set-aside designation, and no incumbent contractors are mentioned. Vendors must have an active United States/Canada Joint Certification Program (JCP) certification to access export-controlled data, as the technical information is restricted under the Arms Export Control Act and Export Administration Act. The procurement carries significant export control requirements, with DLA explicitly stating they will not delay award to allow ineligible offerors to obtain necessary certifications. The contract is classified under NAICS category 333613 (Mechanical Power Transmission Equipment Manufacturing) and PSC category 3040 (Miscellaneous Power Transmission Equipment). The solicitation was posted on April 21, 2025, with responses due by May 6, 2025, and involves a one-time acquisition of 40 units with no specified test requirements.
