About this opportunity
The National Park Service seeks to drydock its Statue of Liberty National Monument mooring barge located in New York Harbor to perform preventative maintenance and repairs. The selected contractor will be responsible for hauling the barge out of the water, conducting an inspection to identify any damage or wasted steel, making all necessary repairs, and transporting the barge to and from their facility. Proposals are due by May 20, 2020. Evaluation will consider the contractor's ability to provide a temporary replacement barge to allow the NPS to continue marine operations during maintenance.
This opportunity is set aside for total small business concerns. The predominate NAICS code is 336611 and PSC code Y2. As the incumbent contractor has not performed cyclic maintenance since 2012, no value estimates are available but the contract is expected to be completed within one year.
Notice text
The National Park Service (NPS) Statue of Liberty National Monument (STLI) mooring barge is located in the Ellis Island slip in New York Harbor. The barge serves NPS and the United States Park Police (USPP) as a stationary floating mooring dock for securing of vessels as well as a passenger embarkation and disembarkation point. The mooring barge was built and launched in 2012 and since that date has not received any cyclic maintenance to the hull and interior. This requirement is to have the barge dry docked (hauled out of water), inspected for damage and wasted steel, repaired (if needed), and to have preventative maintenance performed. Contractor shall be responsible for transportation of the barge to and from the contractor¿s facility and provide for a temporary replacement barge to enable the park to continue its marine operations.
