About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 29 units of NSN 7R-1680-016406638-JT, a specific paradrogue assembly with a technical data package (TDP Ver 001). This is a sole-source procurement primarily targeting Mission Systems Davenport, with Lockheed Martin potentially able to express interest. The procurement requires interested vendors to submit comprehensive source approval documentation through NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Source Approval Information Brochures. Vendors must demonstrate technical capability and provide detailed technical data about their production experience with similar items. Proposals must be submitted by June 16, 2025, and the government will consider all proposals received within 45 days of publication. Notably, this is a flight-critical item requiring specific government source approval prior to contract award.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for this procurement. The total quantity is 29 units, with delivery expected FOB Origin. While no specific award value is mentioned, the procurement is considered critical for fleet support needs. Incremental and early deliveries will be accepted, and the government retains discretion in determining competitive procurement status. Interested parties without current source approval must submit detailed technical documentation demonstrating their capability to produce the specialized component. The procurement process allows for potential alternative sources beyond the primary identified contractor, though the technical complexity and flight-critical nature of the item suggest significant barriers to entry for new manufacturers.
