Notice text
NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order Hologic, Inc, 250 Campus Drive Marlborough, MA 01752 for the Panther System. The Panther system is the only system that is fully automated and can provide a analyzed sample for quantitation of hepatitis B and hepatitis C nucleic acids. It has one of the smallest footprints of any comparable analyzers that quantitate hepatitis B and C nucleic acids on the market. It also has the lowest limit of detection of any of the comparable FDA approved assays on the market. The Panther has random and continuous access to permit STAT processing and the ability to sample from multiple primary sample tubes. Additionally the random and continuous access permits the Panther to run different assays simultaneously, a feature not permitted on other FDA approved platforms. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals by forwarding information to the contracting officer.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist at Dwight Favors at dyf3l@cdc.gov by 19 August 2020.
