Notice text

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) awarded a contract modification to Standard Aero Inc., San Antonio, TX, on an other than full and open basis procuring the minor repair of discrepancies in fourteen (14) P-8A aircraft engines.  Between 28 January 2019 and 23 December 2019, the engines were inducted into Standard Aero’s facility pursuant to Order N0019192630 for the incorporation of Power Plant Change 13 (PPC-13), the SermeTel coating of engine High Pressure Compressor Front Stator Cases.  Each engine has been disassembled to the extent required to remove the case to apply the SermeTel coating.  During the disassembly process, discrepancies requiring repairs, were identified by Standard Aero.  As a result, and in accordance with FAR 16.505 (b)(2)(i)(C), this modification was issued on a sole-source basis in the interest of economy and efficiency because it is a logical follow-on to the Order, as the engines are in an opportune state to effect the repairs to return the engines to a ready-for-issue (RFI) condition.  The total dollar value of the awarded contract modification is $1,083,403 with the effort planned to be completed by 30 September 2020.
