About this opportunity
The General Services Administration (GSA), on behalf of Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), is seeking to procure a P-8A Engine with Sermetel-Coated HPC Case, Cover, Stand and Cradle Set for the Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft (MPRA) Program 290 (PMA-290), to be delivered to Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida. This is a Sources Sought notice and market research initiative issued on January 27, 2026, with responses due by February 11, 2026. The Government intends to pursue a sole-source, non-competitive acquisition under FAR 15.002(a) and 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(B) authority. The GSA is seeking to understand the level of interest and availability of potential vendors capable of meeting the requirement, gather vendor feedback on implementation issues, subcontractor and teaming arrangements, and total solution capability, as well as clarifications needed to draft technical specifications. Responses must be limited to three pages, exclude pricing information, and should be submitted via email to Contract Specialist Violeta Tellinghuisen or Contracting Officer Phil Cleveland by the deadline specified on SAM.gov. The P-8A Engine Core and Cradle Set are classified as commercial items under this acquisition.
This procurement carries no set-aside designation. The intended source for this sole-source acquisition is CFM International Inc., which manufactures the specific CFM56-7B27AE Engine required for this program. No award value or budget range is disclosed in this Sources Sought notice, and no specific quantity of units is detailed in the available documentation. This is a market research initiative only and does not constitute a formal solicitation or commitment to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) or make an award; responses will be used for information and planning purposes to identify potential alternative sources and validate the Government's procurement strategy for this specialized maritime patrol aircraft engine component.
