About this opportunity
Naval Air Systems Command awarded a cost-plus-fixed-fee delivery order valued at $38,084,841 to The Boeing Company on August 11, 2026, for integration and testing of Advanced Survivability Pod capabilities onto the P-8A Aircraft.
Contract N0001926G1002 was awarded to Boeing as the sole source. Boeing is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the P-8A airframe and sole integrator of the avionics systems, and the Government determined it is the only responsible source with the requisite knowledge, experience, and technical data capable of meeting requirements without unacceptable delays. The CPFF contract type was selected under FAR 16.103(d)(1) due to significant cost uncertainties associated with required engineering and testing for the integration effort; a fixed-price contract would not provide equitable risk allocation between Government and contractor. No set-aside applied to this award.
Notice text
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) awarded a cost-plus-fixed-fee (CPFF) delivery order for the procurement of integration and test of the Advanced Survivability Pod (ASP) capabilities onto the P-8A Aircraft.
Boeing is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the P-8A airframe, as well as the sole integrator of the avionics systems, and therefore is the only responsible source with the requisite knowledge, experience, and technical data that can meet the Government's requirements without resulting in unacceptable delays in fulfilling the Navy’s requirement to integrate the ASP.
It was determined that a CPFF contract action was the appropriate contract type pursuant to FAR 16.103(d)(1). There are significant cost uncertainties related to the required engineering and testing necessary for the integration effort, which means the use of a fixed-price type contract would not provide an equitable and sensible allocation of program risk between the Government and the Contractor.
Awarded contract N0001926G1002 to THE BOEING COMPANY for 38084841.00 on 2026-08-11.
