About this opportunity

The Office of the Secretary of Defense, specifically the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW(R&E)), has published a Special Notice announcing a Technical Exchange Meeting (TEM) hosted by the Assistant Secretary of War for Mission Capabilities (ASW(MC)). This classified event is scheduled for Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the Kossiakoff Center located at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Maryland, from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM ET. The meeting is classified at the SECRET // REL TO USA, FVEY level and is designed to facilitate direct engagement between government and private industry participants. This is not a solicitation for proposals but rather an industry outreach and information-sharing event.

The objective of this Technical Exchange Meeting is to provide private industry with comprehensive insights into the Mission Capabilities office's efforts, technical priorities, threats, and capability challenges in developing warfighter capabilities across areas including fires, command and control, logistics, and information advantage. Prospective participants must complete advanced registration by the posted due date of January 7, 2026 (with separate deadlines for foreign participants), submit a Visitor Access Request (VAR), and possess appropriate security clearances to access classified information. Eligible participants include U.S. citizens and foreign nationals from Five Eyes countries, each utilizing separate registration links; a $25 registration fee covers meals and event materials. The event will feature government presentations on the future operating environment, technical challenges, and opportunities for industry participation in experimentation, prototypes, and new concept development, concluding with a networking session that allows participants to engage directly with government representatives and other industry attendees.
