About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command is conducting market research to procure a replacement engine for an Oshkosh P-23 fire truck located at Moody Air Force Base. The current Duetz TCD2015VO8 XE Engine has a critical block crack rendering it unusable, necessitating the acquisition of a compatible replacement engine. This sources sought notice is designed to identify potential vendors capable of supplying a suitable engine with appropriate technical specifications. Interested parties are required to submit their capability details and engine technical specifications directly to maria.spence@us.af.mil by March 17, 2025. The procurement falls under the NAICS category 333618 for Other Engine Equipment Manufacturing and PSC category 2815 for Diesel Engines and Components.
This pre-solicitation notice does not represent a formal solicitation and includes no set-aside designations for small businesses or specific vendor categories. The market research phase means no immediate contract award is anticipated, and vendors are simply being asked to demonstrate their technical capabilities and potential engine solutions. While specific budget ranges are not disclosed, the notice suggests this is a targeted replacement for a specific fire truck engine at a military installation. The procurement timeline appears to be in the near term, with the sources sought notice posted on March 13, 2025, and responses due by March 17, 2025. Potential vendors should carefully review the technical requirements and be prepared to provide comprehensive documentation about their engine's compatibility with the Oshkosh P-23 fire truck specifications.
