About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command is seeking a 5-year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for repair services of the Operator Input Device (OID) Keyboard used in the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system. The critical repair contract will involve inspection, testing, and comprehensive restoration of keyboard units to ensure full functionality, with strict adherence to qualified design drawings and specifications. All responsible sources are permitted to submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations for consideration, though the government indicates a strong preference for Comark Inc. as the sole-source contractor. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on May 7, 2025, with responses due by May 23, 2025, and an estimated contract award anticipated in September 2025. Evaluation will focus on the contractor's ability to perform specialized technical repair and testing of these highly technical electronic components.
The contract is designated as a non-set-aside, sole-source opportunity with Comark Inc., who has been the exclusive repair contractor since the keyboard's inception. The maximum quantity for repair is 60 units per year, with a potential total of 300 units over the contract's duration. Delivery will be located at Hill Air Force Base in Utah, with a maximum of 60 units processed annually. While the exact contract award dollar amount remains undetermined, the contract will include line items for testing/evaluation, repair, potential additional work, and maintenance overhead. Foreign participation is explicitly restricted, and the government acknowledges that Comark Inc. exclusively possesses the technical data, sub-assembly drawings, specifications, and repair processes necessary to perform the specialized keyboard restoration service.
