About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Pacific Air Forces, through the 766 Enterprise Sourcing Squadron, has issued a Special Notice regarding the Operations and Maintenance Alaska Radar System METASYS contract opportunity. This Special Notice announces the agency's intent to award a firm fixed price contract to Johnson Controls Alaska Office located in Anchorage, Alaska, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, which allows for sole source procurement when only one responsible source exists and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The contract will cover operations and maintenance services for the Johnson Controls proprietary METASYS System across multiple Alaska Radar System Sites. The requirement falls under NAICS code 238220 for Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors and PSC code J041 for maintenance, repair, and rebuild of refrigeration, air conditioning, and air circulating equipment. The Special Notice was posted on July 14, 2025, with a due date of July 18, 1820, and no set-aside designation applies to this procurement.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to inform the contracting community of the agency's intention to proceed with a sole source award to Johnson Controls Alaska Office for specialized maintenance services on their proprietary METASYS system. The contract scope includes preventive maintenance inspections and any necessary repairs or upgrades to the system infrastructure supporting Alaska Radar System Sites. The period of performance is structured as a one-year base contract with two additional one-year option periods, providing potential for up to three years of continuous service. Given the sole source nature of this procurement under FAR 6.302-1, eligibility is restricted to Johnson Controls Alaska Office as the only entity capable of providing the required proprietary system maintenance services. The July 18, 1820 due date appears to contain a typographical error, as it references a year that is inconsistent with the posting date, suggesting contractors should seek clarification on the actual response deadline.
