About this opportunity

The Defense Health Agency (DHA), specifically the Northeastern Healthcare Operations Contracting Division, is seeking a source to provide advanced oncology testing services for Augusta Military Medical Center's Pathology Department. The primary objective is to procure genetic molecular analysis services that can deliver diagnostic genetic and biological tumor information for breast, colon, and prostate cancer types. The agency specifically identifies the Oncotype DX test as the preferred multigene assay capable of predicting chemotherapy treatment effects and prognostic disease outcomes. While the DHA intends to award a firm fixed price contract on a sole source basis to Genomic Health, Inc., they are open to alternative vendors who can demonstrate comparable capabilities. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on February 21, 2025, with responses due by March 20, 2025, and potential vendors are encouraged to submit substantiated and validated information about their testing capabilities.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designations for this contract opportunity. The potential award will be structured as a firm fixed price contract, targeting the Reference Laboratory Testing category under NAICS code 621511 for Medical Laboratories. Genomic Health, Inc., located in Redwood City, California, is currently the identified sole source provider, with a CAGE code of 37AM2. While specific award values are not disclosed in the notice, the contract will support the Anatomic Pathology Section's requirement for advanced oncological testing services. The primary evaluation criteria will focus on a vendor's ability to provide a multigene assay that can both predict chemotherapy treatment effectiveness and provide prognostic insights into disease outcomes, with a specific focus on breast cancer testing methodologies.
