About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research to identify qualified sources for the procurement of an Omax 80X Pro Waterjet Cutting System intended for delivery at Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) in Cherry Point, North Carolina. The required deliverables include a turn-key machine with comprehensive technical data, shipping and delivery services, IUID tagging, unloading and rigging, installation, testing, on-site operator training, maintenance and mechanical training, and removal of the currently owned OMAX 80X waterjet system. This pre-solicitation notice indicates the Government's intent to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302 authority, suggesting a potential sole-source procurement approach. Interested parties must submit their responses electronically to AVN IPE Market Research at AVNIPEMarketResearch@dla.mil by the March 11, 2026 deadline. It is important to note that this sources sought notice is for information gathering purposes only and does not constitute a formal solicitation, request for proposal, or commitment by the Government to award a contract based on submitted responses.
This procurement has not been designated with any set-aside designation. The notice does not identify specific incumbent contractors or current machine suppliers, though it references removal of an existing OMAX 80X waterjet, suggesting an upgrade or replacement scenario. No award value or budget range is disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. The responses submitted are strictly voluntary and will be used by the Government solely to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement; the Government retains full discretion to decide against competing the contract. As this is a market research phase rather than a formal solicitation, no funds are available to reimburse respondents for their efforts in preparing responses.
