About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure four OEM AMPCO PUMPS COMPANY LLC centrifugal pumps through a combined synopsis/solicitation designated as RFQ N0040625QS490. The specific requirement is for ZCH2 4x3 inch Duplex 2205 Stainless Steel pumps with 15hp 254Jm 3500RPM motors, needed to replace existing centrifugal pumps that cool ship engines during overhaul and breakdown operations. This is a brand name procurement limited to the original equipment manufacturer AMPCO PUMPS COMPANY LLC or their authorized distributors, who must provide documentation of their authorization with their quotes. The government will evaluate offers based on technical factors including delivery date, price, and past performance, with no specified order of importance among these criteria. Questions regarding the solicitation must be submitted by 1:00 PM PDT on August 25, 2025, with the quote submission deadline set for August 26, 2025.

This procurement does not utilize any small business set-aside designations and operates under NAICS code 333996 with a small business size standard of 1,250 employees. AMPCO PUMPS COMPANY LLC appears to be the incumbent supplier, as the justification documents indicate that Ampco pumps are currently installed on the vessel and have the required American Bureau of Shipping approvals for T-AH class, T-AKE class, and EPF class vessels. The contract calls for delivery of four centrifugal pumps by November 30, 2025, to the MSC Warehouse in Norfolk, Virginia. The Navy intends to award a firm, fixed-price contract as a single award for all items, though no specific contract value or budget range has been disclosed in the solicitation materials. The replacement pumps must maintain form, fit, and function compatibility with existing systems and provide support availability in the applicable European area of responsibility.
