In support of electric fires assessments, analysis and testing, the resulting sole-source contract will also provide analytical and test support of command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems (such as the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical system), Integrated Air and Missile Defense Battle Command System (IBCS), and others that are critical to command and control (C2).

Additionally, GTRI/ASL will perform fundamental technology research; accomplish technology insertion planning and execution; develop research and engineering strategies for risk mitigation in defense systems and technology programs; design and develop hardware and software models and prototypes and perform technology and engineering analyses to include systems engineering and systems of systems engineering analyses supporting the design, development, interoperability and testing of hardware and software at the component, subsystem, and system level; and quantify the corresponding impacts on composite system performance.
