About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Strategic Acquisition Center is conducting market research to identify qualified vendors capable of supplying Lumenis Pulse 120H Holmium Laser System units or equivalent Ho-YAG laser systems for the Veterans Health Administration's Non-Expendable Equipment National Program. This Sources Sought Notice seeks vendors who can provide laser systems meeting specific technical requirements, including a 2.1 mm treatment wavelength, minimum 120W power output, and pulse delivery capabilities up to 100Hz. Vendors must demonstrate the ability to provide a comprehensive service plan and maintain an uninterrupted nationwide supply of the equipment. The solicitation requires detailed company information, product literature proving compliance with specifications, and comprehensive service capabilities. Responses are due by March 7, 2025, at 9:00 AM EST, with vendors expected to submit detailed documentation demonstrating their technical and logistical competence.

The procurement is not set aside for any specific business category and falls under NAICS code 334510 with a size standard of 1,250 employees. The anticipated contract structure includes a 12-month base period with four additional 12-month option periods, with anticipated procurement quantities ranging from 15 units in the base year to 4-7 units per year for two specific laser configurations (GA-2009996 and GA-0006802 models). While no specific award value is disclosed, the multi-year contract suggests a significant procurement commitment for medical laser equipment. The notice explicitly clarifies that this is a market research exercise and does not guarantee the issuance of a solicitation or contract award. Potential vendors in the electromedical and electrotherapeutic apparatus manufacturing sector are encouraged to demonstrate their capabilities and readiness to meet the VA's specialized medical equipment requirements.
