About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation (DLA Aviation) intends to issue a solicitation for a long-term contract to supply self-locking hexagon nuts with extended washers, specifically for F/A-18 aircraft (A-D, E/F, and G Growler models). The contract will cover National Stock Number 5310-00-881-0943, manufactured in accordance with NASM21043, Revision NR 3 dated 01/31/2013. The procurement will be an Indefinite Quantity Contract structured under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 15, with contract award decisions based on a combination of price, past performance, and other evaluation factors detailed in the forthcoming solicitation. Interested suppliers can access the complete solicitation through the DLA Internet Bid Board System (DIBBS) starting March 18, 2025, with proposals due by April 18, 2025. Vendors without DIBBS access may request a paper copy of the solicitation on a case-by-case basis.

The contract is designated as a total small business set-aside, meaning only small businesses can compete for the opportunity. The initial contract period will span five years with no additional option periods, and the terms include FOB Origin with inspection and acceptance occurring at the point of origin. The solicitation will specifically cover DLA Direct requirements, focusing on procurement of the MS21043-6 part piece number. While specific contract value details are not provided, the long-term nature of the contract and its specialized aerospace manufacturing requirements suggest a significant potential opportunity for qualified small business manufacturers in the Bolt, Nut, Screw, Rivet, and Washer Manufacturing category (NAICS 332722). Interested companies should carefully review the full solicitation when it becomes available to understand the complete scope and requirements of this federal contract opportunity.
