About this opportunity
The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) has issued a Special Notice (N0016424SNB101) seeking solutions to prototype a novel Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) remote drilling robot. This man-portable and man-emplaced robot must have the capability to remotely drill on a variety of targets, which would increase warfighter survivability during EOD operations. The purpose of this Special Notice is to address NSWC Crane's need for a drilling robot that meets the size, weight, power, and remote capability requirements for modern EOD operations, as current technology does not meet these needs. The Special Notice has a response due date of July 12, 2024, at noon, and interested parties must be members of the Expeditionary Missions Consortium - Crane (EMC2) consortium. A Q&A session will be held on July 3, 2024, and access will be limited to EMC2 consortium members. NSWC Crane intends to award an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) in accordance with 10 U.S. Code 4022 to the successful solution provider.
