About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is seeking to procure 223 units of iridium catalysts (NSN 6850-011321924) manufactured by Honeywell International Inc., part number 243-024-9001, for use in F-16 aircraft applications. This procurement requires a higher level quality system and specifies FOB at origin with inspection and acceptance at origin, though it is not classified as a Critical Safety Item. The anticipated Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued on approximately October 2, 2025, with a closing date around November 1, 2025, and delivery is required within 179 days after receipt of order. The final contract award decision will be based on a combination of price, past performance, and other evaluation factors as described in the solicitation, utilizing the Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS). Alternate offerors must submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) package along with their completed solicitation to be considered for award, though SAR evaluation is subject to time constraints.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and is structured as other than full and open competition, with the award anticipated to be made against the Original Equipment Manufacturer's Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA). Honeywell International Inc. appears to be the incumbent contractor as the OEM for this specific catalyst component. Offers exceeding $750,000 will require a subcontracting plan, while those over $2,000,000 will need both certified cost and pricing data and a subcontracting plan. The procurement will result in a firm fixed price contract for the specified quantity of 223 catalyst units. All offerors must maintain active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible for award consideration, regardless of the contract value.
