About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) - Richmond is conducting market research to identify potential sources for a RING, PISTON SEAL (NSN 5365-01-487-5364) used in HH-60 Helicopter variations. This sources sought synopsis is designed to gather information from companies capable of manufacturing and supplying these specialized aerospace components. The government will evaluate market responses based on three primary criteria: ability to provide supplies consistent with the described scope, capacity to deploy comprehensive corporate resources, and capability to deliver under a firm-fixed price contract. Interested parties must submit their capability statements and organizational details via email to Donetta.Nelson@dla.mil by 3 PM EST on December 8, 2024. Responses are completely voluntary, and the government emphasizes that this notice is for informational purposes only and does not constitute a formal solicitation.

The current opportunity is not set aside for any specific business category, though the DLA indicates the potential for a small business set-aside or full and open competition based on market research responses. General Electric Company is currently an approved source for the specific part (Part Number: 3033T80P02), with an estimated requirement of 600 units. Potential contractors must be prepared to manage comprehensive manufacturing responsibilities, including component part procurement, inspection, testing, preservation, packaging, shipping, supply chain management, and addressing potential manufacturing source challenges. The contract will likely involve new manufacture of the specified piston seal, with unit prices to be established at the time of contract award. While no specific budget range is provided, the technical requirements suggest a need for advanced manufacturing capabilities in aerospace component production.
