About this opportunity
Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research through a Sources Sought Notice to identify suppliers capable of manufacturing or obtaining NSN 2915-00-908-6071, PUMP VANE ASSY for CH-53 helicopters, with responses due August 10, 2026. This is not a solicitation and carries no set-aside. The item is currently manufactured by Hydro-Aire Aerospace Corp (Cage 51663) under part number RB17805.
Interested parties must submit responses via email to Tatjana Klemmer at tatjana.vaughan@dla.mil. Suppliers seeking qualification as approved sources must submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) package through the Source Approval Request Program, as outlined in the attached Aviation Source Approval and Management Handbook. The SAR package must demonstrate that the prospective contractor can manufacture the product to equal or superior quality compared to the currently approved item; the burden of proof rests with the contractor to document equivalence or superiority.
For NSNs without open solicitations, DLA Aviation requires electronic submission of SARs via DoD SAFE file transmission at https://safe.apps.mil/ rather than physical media. Suppliers should email dlaavnsmallbus@dla.mil with subject line "request a SAR drop off," including CAGE code, NSN, and email address. Before submitting, suppliers are advised to review DLA Supplier Requirements Visibility Application to assess demand forecasting and cost effectiveness, as SARs may not be processed if deemed cost-ineffective due to low demand. The SAR review process typically requires over 180 days from DLA Aviation receipt. Questions should be directed to the DLA Aviation SAR analyst at dlaavnsmallbus@dla.mil.
