About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research through this Sources Sought Notice to identify companies capable of manufacturing or legitimately obtaining NSN 1560-01-699-8189, an aircraft access cover for the F-22 Raptor fighter aircraft under Weapon System Designator Code PGF. This is an informational notice only and does not constitute a solicitation or commitment by the government, with no funds available for response preparation. Companies interested in being qualified as an "Approved Source" must submit an application package through the Source Approval Request (SAR) Program, demonstrating their ability to manufacture the product to the same quality level or better than the currently approved item. The SAR process requires comprehensive documentation proving competency and can take over 180 days for review, with detailed guidance provided in the attached JACG SAM Handbook. Responses to this market research notice must be submitted by July 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time via email to the designated contracting officer.
This opportunity does not include any set-aside designation and is open to all qualified manufacturers. The current manufacturer is Kenon Products Inc. (CAGE code 0NDX3) producing the item under part number KENF22PMNR. No award values, budget ranges, or specific quantities are mentioned in this pre-solicitation notice, as it serves purely as a market research tool to identify potential sources. The item falls under NAICS code 336413 for Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing and PSC code 1560 for Airframe Structural Components. Companies seeking approval must navigate the formal SAR submission process, which now requires electronic submission rather than physical CDs, and involves extensive technical and quality documentation to demonstrate manufacturing capability for this critical aircraft component.
