About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure a specific military part with National Stock Number 7R-1680-016281390-E7, which appears to be a general cable superintendent or related replacement part for aircraft. The contract opportunity is currently in a pre-solicitation phase, with interested parties able to express their capability to meet the government's requirements. The government intends to potentially negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, though they will consider proposals received within 45 days of publication (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). Potential bidders must obtain necessary military specifications and standards, which can be accessed through the DoDSingle Stock Point (DODSSP) or the ASSIST-Online platform. The contracting officer will evaluate proposals based on the ability to satisfy the government's specific requirements, with a particular focus on technical capability and compliance with military specifications.

The pre-solicitation notice does not indicate a specific set-aside designation, meaning the opportunity is open to all qualified vendors. The quantity requested is 1 EA (each), with delivery specified as FOB Origin, suggesting the government expects the supplier to handle initial transportation logistics. While no specific award value is mentioned, the procurement is categorized under PSC 1680 for Miscellaneous Aircraft Accessories and Components, which typically involves specialized and potentially high-value equipment. The proposed contract allows for early and incremental deliveries, providing flexibility for the successful vendor. Interested parties have until February 20, 2025, to respond, with the government reserving the right to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement based on the responses received. The solicitation explicitly notes that commercial item policies from FAR Part 12 will not be used in this procurement.
