About this opportunity

The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) is conducting a sources sought notice (SSN) for a dual-chamber thin film sputter deposition system. The intent is to determine if there are qualified contractors capable of meeting the detailed technical specifications outlined in the attached draft requirements document. Interested parties are asked to provide information on their company, relevant capabilities, and feedback on whether the system would be considered a commercial item. NRL is seeking this information by August 2, 2024, but this is not a solicitation and the government is not committed to awarding a contract at this time.

There is no set-aside designation for this opportunity, and no incumbent contractor information is provided. The SSN does not specify a budget range or award value, as this is a preliminary market research activity to assess the available supplier base. The draft specifications indicate the system must accommodate various substrate sizes up to 200 mm diameter silicon wafers and include capabilities such as separate chambers for dielectric and metallic thin film deposition, sample transfer, heating, rotation, and biasing.
