About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research to identify potential sources for manufacturing a fuel injector nozzle (NSN 2915-014669676) with an estimated annual requirement of 60 units. The agency is seeking manufacturers capable of producing this aircraft engine component, which involves comprehensive manufacturing capabilities including procurement of component parts, inspection, testing, preservation, packaging, and shipping. Key contract objectives include demonstrating organizational capacity to provide services consistent with the technical requirements, securing necessary corporate financial and technical resources, implementing effective project management, and meeting tight program schedules. The market research will help determine the procurement method, which may result in a full and open competition or a small business set-aside. Interested parties must submit their capability statements and organizational information via email to cindy.hunt@dla.mil by June 6, 2025, with no telephone inquiries accepted.

The current pre-solicitation notice does not specify a definitive set-aside, but indicates the potential for small business designation or full and open competition. The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) is identified as Robertson Fuel, with a CAGE code of 1T765, operating within the Aircraft Engine and Engine Parts Manufacturing NAICS category (336412). While specific unit prices will be established during contract award, the procurement involves complex supply chain management requirements, including logistics planning, production forecasting, long-lead time parts procurement, and addressing potential manufacturing source challenges. The contract may potentially result in multiple awards, and vendors must demonstrate comprehensive capabilities in technical performance, personnel management, and risk mitigation. No specific budget range is provided, but the annual procurement quantity of 60 fuel injector nozzles suggests a specialized, precision manufacturing opportunity.
