About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior's Interior Business Center (IBC), Acquisition Services Directorate (AQD) has issued a Special Notice announcing the administrative closeout of multiple federal contracts. This notification, posted on January 22, 2026, serves as advance warning to vendors whose contracts are scheduled for termination. The contracts identified in the attached closeout list have completed their periods of performance, have been fully invoiced, and maintain zero remaining balances. The IBC will proceed with unilateral contract closeout procedures in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 4.804 unless vendors submit objections or requests for bilateral modifications within the specified timeframe.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to provide affected contractors with ten business days' advance notification before the government initiates unilateral closeout actions on their expired contracts. Contractors who wish to dispute the closeout or prefer a bilateral modification must contact the designated point of contact prior to the February 5, 2026 deadline. The closeout list encompasses approximately 600+ contract awards across multiple vendors, with contract values ranging from under $1,000 to over $344,000, spanning service categories including helicopter operations, aviation maintenance, information technology solutions, facility management, and logistics support. The affected contracts represent work completed between 2020 and 2025, with the majority concentrated in 2024-2025 performance periods. No set-asides or special eligibility criteria apply to this administrative closure process, as participation is limited to vendors already listed on the closeout schedule.
