About this opportunity

The Department of the Interior's Interior Business Center (IBC), Acquisition Services Directorate (AQD) has issued a Special Notice announcing the planned closeout of 33 expired federal contracts in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 4.804. This notice was posted on March 9, 2026, and serves as advance notification to the affected vendors that contract closeout procedures will commence. The contracts identified for closeout have all reached the expiration of their period of performance, are fully invoiced, and maintain zero remaining balances. The affected contracts span various contract types including Firm Fixed Price, Time and Materials, Labor Hours, and Fixed Price with Economic Price Adjustment arrangements, with periods of performance ranging from mid-2023 through early 2026. Major contractors involved include consulting firms such as Deloitte Consulting LLP, Guidehouse Inc., Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., Accenture Federal Services LLC, and specialized service providers including various aviation companies.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to provide vendors with advance notification of unilateral contract closeout proceedings, which will begin ten business days after the March 9, 2026 posting date, making the effective deadline March 23, 2026. Contractors who wish to dispute the closeout action or prefer a bilateral contract closeout modification must contact the designated point of contact before the closing date to present valid reasons for alternative closeout procedures. This notice applies exclusively to the vendors listed in the attached contract summary, as these contracts have completed performance obligations with no outstanding financial balances remaining. No set-asides or special eligibility criteria apply to this closeout notice, as it pertains solely to administrative conclusion of already-completed contract actions rather than new business opportunities. Affected contractors should promptly review the contract list and contact the appropriate government representative if they have concerns regarding the proposed closeout of their respective contracts.
