About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior's Interior Business Center (IBC), Acquisition Services Directorate (AQD), has issued a Special Notice on January 26, 2026, regarding the closeout of 20 federal contracts. The contracts listed in the accompanying attachment have expired performance periods, are fully invoiced, and maintain zero dollar remaining balances. This notice serves as advance notification to affected vendors regarding upcoming contract closeout actions in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 4.804 procedures. The affected contractors represent a diverse range of service providers, including aerospace, technology solutions, propeller manufacturing, and business consulting firms. Notable contractors on the closure list include Bridger Aerospace Group LLC, Smartronix LLC, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Dominion Propeller Corp., among others.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to inform vendors of the Interior Business Center's intent to proceed with unilateral contract closeouts beginning ten business days after the notice posting date, which corresponds to February 9, 2026. Contractors who wish to pursue alternative closeout options or possess valid reasons for preventing the closeout may request a bilateral contract closeout modification by submitting their concerns to the point of contact identified in the announcement prior to the February 9 deadline. The affected contracts encompass various pricing structures, including Firm Fixed Price, Labor Hours, Time and Materials, and Order Dependent arrangements, with performance periods ranging from June 2020 through January 2026. No specific eligibility criteria or new participation opportunities are presented, as this notice exclusively addresses the administrative closeout of already-completed contracts rather than the solicitation of new work or vendor participation in ongoing initiatives.
