About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior's Interior Business Center (IBC), Acquisition Services Directorate (AQD) has issued a Special Notice regarding the administrative closeout of multiple federal contracts. Posted on December 29, 2025, this announcement notifies vendors of the agency's intent to close out 50 existing contracts that have reached the end of their performance periods. The contracts identified for closeout span multiple years and involve diverse service providers, including aviation companies, technology firms, and consulting organizations. The closeout action will proceed in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 4.804 procedures. This notice serves as formal advance notification to affected contractors prior to the initiation of closeout activities.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to inform contractors whose contracts are fully invoiced with zero remaining balances that unilateral contract closeout will commence ten business days after the announcement was posted. Contractors have until January 13, 2026, to contact the designated point of contact if they prefer a bilateral closeout modification or wish to present valid reasons why the closeout should not proceed. The contracts listed in the accompanying attachment have expired periods of performance and represent a cross-section of service categories, including aviation support, technology services, and professional consulting. There are no specific eligibility criteria or new participation requirements, as this notice pertains exclusively to contractors already holding these expiring contracts. This is primarily an administrative notification requiring action only from those vendors whose contracts appear on the closeout list or who believe they have grounds to contest the proposed closure.
