About this opportunity

The Department of the Interior, through its Interior Business Center (IBC), Acquisition Services Directorate (AQD), has issued a Special Notice announcing the planned closeout of multiple expired federal contracts. This notice was posted on December 1, 2025, and serves as advance notification to affected vendors regarding upcoming contract termination actions. The Department of the Interior is a civilian federal agency responsible for managing the nation's natural resources and cultural heritage. The contracts identified for closeout have completed their periods of performance, been fully invoiced, and have zero remaining balances. A total of 24 contracts are listed for closeout, covering various services and vendor types across multiple industries. This action is being conducted in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 4.804 standards for contract closeout procedures.

Contractors listed on the contract closeout schedule have until December 15, 2025, to take action if they wish to pursue alternatives to unilateral closeout, which will commence ten business days after the notice posting. Vendors may request a bilateral contract closeout modification or present valid reasons why their contract should not proceed to closeout by contacting the designated point of contact before the stated deadline. Eligible contractors on the closure list include those with existing contracts that have expired periods of performance with zero dollar balances remaining. No set-aside provisions apply to this special notice, and the opportunity is applicable to all contractors currently holding the identified contracts. The primary objective of this notice is to provide vendors with an opportunity to address any administrative concerns or propose alternative closeout arrangements before the Department proceeds with unilateral contract termination actions.
