About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior, through its Interior Business Center (IBC) and Acquisition Services Directorate (AQD), has issued a Special Notice on October 21, 2025, announcing the planned closeout of 14 contracts in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 4.804. These contracts are designated for unilateral closeout as they have expired periods of performance, are fully invoiced, and maintain zero remaining balances. The notice serves as advance notification to the affected vendors of the upcoming administrative closeout action. The contracts listed span various industries and service types, with award numbers beginning with 140D and performance periods extending through September 2025. Contractors identified in the attached contract list should review the notification carefully to understand their contract status and any associated implications.
Vendors identified in the contract closeout list have until November 4, 2025—ten business days after the notice posting—to submit a response if they prefer a bilateral contract closeout modification or wish to present a valid reason preventing closeout. Contractors are required to contact the designated point of contact before the closing date to request alternative closeout procedures or to object to the proposed unilateral closeout. If no response is received from affected vendors by the deadline, the government will proceed with unilateral contract closeout automatically. The notice explicitly addresses vendors whose contracts have completed performance with no outstanding financial obligations, making this a routine administrative matter rather than an opportunity for new work. Participation in this notice is limited to the 14 contractors whose contracts are listed in the accompanying attachment and who wish to challenge or modify the standard closeout process.
