About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior's Interior Business Center (IBC), Acquisition Services Directorate (AQD) has issued a Special Notice regarding the planned closeout of multiple federal contracts. This notice serves as advance notification to contractors whose contracts have expired performance periods, are fully invoiced, and maintain zero dollar balances. The attached contract listing identifies 45 contracts across 15 different companies, including major contractors such as LDSS INC., SMARTRONIX LLC, and KEARNS & WEST INC. These contracts span various types including Firm Fixed Price, Time and Materials, and Labor Hours arrangements, with performance periods primarily concentrated between 2018 and 2025. The IBC plans to proceed with contract closeouts in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 4.804.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to formally notify affected contractors of impending unilateral contract closeout actions, which will commence ten business days after the July 21, 2025 posting date. Contractors have until the August 4, 2025 closing date to contact the designated point of contact if they prefer a bilateral contract closeout modification or possess valid reasons to prevent the closeout action. Eligibility to respond is limited to the specific vendors identified in the attached contract list whose contracts meet the criteria of expired performance periods, complete invoicing, and zero remaining balances. The notice provides contractors with a final opportunity to address any outstanding concerns or preferences regarding the closeout process before the IBC proceeds with standard unilateral closeout procedures. No set-aside provisions apply to this administrative action, and the process affects contracts across multiple business support services categories.
