About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior's Interior Business Center (IBC), Acquisition Services Directorate (AQD) has issued a Special Notice regarding the closeout of federal contracts with expired periods of performance. The notice, posted on June 30, 2025, identifies 15 contracts awarded to various companies including Akima Data Management LLC, Alliance Technology Group LLC, Bloomberg Finance LP, and others. These contracts encompass diverse contract types such as Labor Hours, Firm Fixed Price, Time and Materials, Cost Plus Fixed Fee, and Fixed Price with Economic Price Adjustment. The contracts had performance periods ranging from 2020 to 2025, with most spanning one to two years. All listed contracts are fully invoiced and maintain zero remaining balances, making them ready for administrative closeout.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to provide advance notification to affected vendors before the IBC proceeds with unilateral contract closeout in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 4.804. Contractors have until July 14, 2025, to respond if they prefer a bilateral contract closeout modification or have valid reasons to prevent the closeout action. The unilateral closeout process will commence ten business days after the notice posting date, allowing contractors a brief window to communicate their preferences or concerns. This administrative action applies specifically to the contractors identified in the attached contract list who have completed their contractual obligations. The notice serves as a final opportunity for contractors to engage in the closeout process before the government proceeds unilaterally with administrative contract closure.
