About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior's Interior Business Center (IBC), Acquisition Services Directorate (AQD) has issued a Special Notice regarding contract closeout procedures. This notice specifically addresses multiple contracts that have reached the end of their performance periods and been fully invoiced with zero remaining balances. The contracts targeted for closeout are detailed in an attached document listing 59 unique contract awards spanning from September 2016 to March 2025. These contracts involve various contractors and encompass different contract types, including Firm Fixed Price, Time and Materials, and Labor Hours agreements. The notice applies to civilian agency contracts managed through the Interior Business Center.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to initiate a unilateral contract closeout process in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 4.804 guidelines. Contractors have ten business days from the notice's posting date to respond if they object to the closeout or prefer a bilateral contract closeout modification. Eligible contractors are those with contracts on the attached list that meet the specified criteria of expired performance periods and zero remaining balances. Contractors wishing to challenge the closeout or provide alternative input must contact the designated point of contact before the closing date of April 18, 2025. The notice serves as an advance notification mechanism, giving contractors an opportunity to address any potential concerns or discrepancies before the automatic closeout process begins. Contractors are encouraged to carefully review the attached documentation and take appropriate action if they have any reservations about the proposed contract termination.
