About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Air Mobility Command, specifically the 628th Contracting Squadron (628 CONS) at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina, has issued a Special Notice regarding a single source contract for repair services on a T7 Multi-Mission Robotic System. The notice outlines the government's intent to award a contract directly to L3Harris Technologies, Inc., a non-small business located in Palm Bay, Florida. The contracting officer has determined that L3Harris is the only viable source for these specialized robotic system repair services. This notice is being published under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b), which allows for non-competitive procurement under specific circumstances. The notice pertains to repair work for an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit's essential robotic platform.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to formally communicate the government's intention to award a single source contract for T7 Robot repair services, with a specific focus on replacing and repairing the platform's mast camera and communication system. Contractors are invited to submit responses or questions, though the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to proceed competitively. The deadline for submitting responses is 1:00 PM EST on December 20, 2024, with all communications directed to SSgt Joshua Pickering and Mrs. Nicole Alvarez via their provided Air Force email addresses. While the notice is not a competitive solicitation, responsible sources may submit quotes for consideration. Market research has confirmed L3Harris as the only authorized vendor capable of performing these specialized repairs due to the proprietary nature of the robotic system. The contract action is categorized under the Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance NAICS code, with a specific focus on maintaining critical EOD equipment.
