About this opportunity

The National Science Foundation (NSF) has issued a Special Notice to negotiate a sole source purchase order for the booth rental, set up services, and materials for the 245th American Astronomical Society (AAS) meeting from January 12-16, 2025 in New Orleans. The AAS is the major organization of professional astronomers in North America, and the NSF is the primary agency responsible for federal funding of ground-based astronomy in the U.S. The purpose of this sole source acquisition is to enable the NSF to meet with awardees, potential proposers, scientists, and other federal agencies at the AAS meeting, which is the primary forum for the astronomy community to interact with the NSF. The NSF has determined that the AAS is the sole source provider for this requirement, as no other companies can provide the required services, and the GSA schedule does not include small business providers for this need. The NSF intends to award a sole source purchase order to the AAS for these services, with a total estimated cost of $60,000. This Special Notice is for informational purposes only and is not a request for competitive proposals.
