The robotic systems must meet specific technical requirements, including being quadruped robots approximately 43 inches long, 20 inches wide, and 7-28 inches in height, weighing less than 100 pounds with a minimum payload capacity of 20 kilograms and arm attachment capabilities. The procurement will specifically target Boston Dynamics of Waltham, Massachusetts, and includes a comprehensive package of equipment such as the Spot Enterprise Platform with Arms, Samsung Tab Active 3 Tablets, chargers, batteries, calibration boards, and a two-year service plan. Potential alternative vendors may submit capability statements or proposals, which will be considered at the government's discretion, with submissions due by April 8, 2025, at 1:50 PM EST via email to karen.s.millner.ctr@army.mil. The evaluation will be conducted internally by the contracting agency, with no competitive bidding process guaranteed.

The procurement is not designated with any specific set-aside status and will be classified under NAICS category 333998 for Miscellaneous General Purpose Machinery Manufacturing and PSC category 6640 for Laboratory Equipment and Supplies. Boston Dynamics is the intended sole source for this contract, with no indication of an incumbent contractor. While specific award value details are not provided, the package includes two robotic systems, associated tablets, chargers, batteries, and a two-year service plan, suggesting a potentially significant investment in advanced robotic technology. The contract appears to be a direct procurement without a competitive bidding process, leveraging the unique capabilities of Boston Dynamics' Spot Robot Enterprise Packages. The two-year service plan indicates a medium-term commitment to these robotic systems, suggesting the Army's interest in integrating advanced robotic technology into its operational capabilities.
