About this opportunity
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Special Notice indicating their intent to award a sole source, firm-fixed price purchase order to the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Fielding School of Public Health. The contract is for the implementation of a surveillance protocol to assess the immunogenicity and seroprevalence of Monkeypox (Mpox) disease and vaccine among the target population in California, which has experienced the highest Mpox case rates in the U.S.
The purpose of this sole source contract is to enroll up to 1,000 participants, ages 18 and older, visiting health clinics in California to collect blood samples and survey data. UCLA is the only vendor capable of performing this service as they have an established collaboration with LGBTQIA+ and sexual health clinics in the state. Responses to the notice of intent to sole source are due by 4/24/2024, and the period of performance will be from 06/01/2024 to 05/31/2028. The CDC has determined that UCLA is the only vendor with the necessary experience, infrastructure, and access to the target population to successfully execute this requirement.
