About this opportunity

The Department of the Army National Guard, specifically the United States Property and Fiscal Officer (USPFO) for Nevada, has issued a Special Notice of Intent to Sole Source a hazardous waste removal contract to GrayMar Environmental Services, Inc. This notice, posted on March 12, 2026, announces the government's intention to award a firm-fixed price contract on a sole source basis under 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(5), which permits other than full and open competition under specific circumstances. The acquisition is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, as it is not expected to exceed the simplified acquisition threshold. The contract will be awarded to support the Nevada Air National Guard's urgent and compelling requirement for hazardous waste removal services. GrayMark Environmental Services, Inc. has been identified as the only northern Nevada state-certified waste management company that indicated capability to fulfill this specialized requirement.

The primary objective of this acquisition is to obtain removal, transportation, and disposal of hexavolent chromium, a toxic and carcinogenic substance classified as hazardous under EPA and OSHA regulations. The work requires highly specialized professionals trained in specific equipment and regulatory compliance procedures beyond the scope of basic waste management services. Interested contractors must submit written capability statements with clear, compelling, and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the government, with responses due by 10:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time on March 18, 2026. The contract falls under NAICS Code 562910 (Environmental Remediation Services) with a size standard of 1,000 employees, and the PSC category is F108 (Environmental Systems Protection – Environmental Remediation). Interested parties should direct their submissions to Alex Norris at the contact information provided in the notice.
