About this opportunity

The United States Marine Corps issued a Notice of Intent to Award a sole-source firm fixed price contract to Deere & Company for a one-year John Deere Gator maintenance plan, with interested vendors required to respond by August 11, 2026, 4:00 PM. The sole-source award is justified under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) because John Deere's Gold Maintenance Plans require proprietary diagnostic equipment, software, specialized tools, and genuine OEM parts that only certified John Deere technicians can deploy, and warranty validity depends on manufacturer-compliant service. The contract covers prepaid annual preventative maintenance for multiple government-owned John Deere utility vehicles and one riding lawn tractor, performed to manufacturer standards. Vendors who believe they can provide the required specified maintenance plan capability may submit a written response via email to Marine Corps System Command's point of contact indicating their ability to meet the requirement. The Marine Corps will evaluate responses as part of its sole-source justification review under FAR Part 13 simplified acquisition procedures.

Notice text

This is a Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract using FAR Part 12 and Part 13 procedures. Supply needed: USMC requires a purchase of a Gator Maintenance plan for John Deere government property. See Document "gator jna redacted" for detail.

The Government intends to award on a Sole Source basis to: DEERE & COMPANY, 2000 John Deere Run, Cary, North Carolina, 27513-2789. The circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.

The reason for this Sole Source Award Intent is that John Deere is determined the only manufacturer of the requisite systems already integrated with broader operational infrastructure.
Interested vendors: Vendors interested in obtaining the same capability may respond via email to receive Marine Corps System Command's point of contact. In your response, please indicate whether you can provide the required specified maintenance plan. Responses due no later than 11 August 2026, 4:00 PM.
