About this opportunity
The Federal Bureau of Investigation published a Special Notice of its intent to award a sole-source contract to Vision Research, Inc. The Notice regards the purchase of one Phantom TMX 7510 high-speed camera color system for the agency's Terrorist Explosive Devices Analytical Center.
The Special Notice aims to provide interested parties an opportunity to submit capability statements and proposals by December 21st, 2023 arguing why the contract should be competed, as the FBI has determined that only Vision Research's product meets requirements. The camera will enhance the center's video capture capabilities for improvised explosives research, with frame rates up to 1,750,000 frames per second and resolutions over 700,000 frames per second using a back side illuminated sensor. While the FBI has discretion over competition, responses must include a Unique Entity ID number and business size classification for consideration of a competitive procurement. No reimbursement for submission costs will be provided.
