About this opportunity

The Food and Drug Administration issued a notice of intent on July 15, 2026 to sole-source an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract with Risk Sciences International for management, technical activities, operations and maintenance, and system enhancements to the FDA-iRISK food safety risk assessment tool. The 3-year IDIQ contract will support both the public version (FDA-iRISK 5.0) and institutional version (5.1i) of this peer-reviewed modeling system, which enables users to compare and rank risks from microbial and chemical hazards and predict effectiveness of prevention and control measures. FDA's Human Foods Program will use the contract to maintain FDA-iRISK in operational readiness for FDA regulatory and research purposes and for stakeholder use in the scientific community. Risk Sciences International, located at 1505 Laperriere Avenue, Suite 343, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, is identified as the only contractor able to meet the requirements. The justification cites FAR 6.302-1 authority.
